Top tips from The Urban Grocery team

~ Get a head-start on your day and freeze the ingredients for your smoothie the night before.  Just chop up the fruits and veggies, pop them in a re-usable tub or freezer safe jar and freeze overnight.  When you are ready for your smoothie the next day just grab your frozen fruit and veggies straight from the freezer, put into your blender, add water and blend.  This way there is no need for ice.

~ Instead of water, you could add depth to your smoothie by adding, milk, milk alternatives (almond, oat, coconut etc.), yogurt, kefir... the list of yummy liquids you could add goes on, try something new!

~ You could also add agave syrup, date syrup, honey, pomegranate molasses to your smoothie for extra natural sweetness.

~ If you enjoy a caffeine hit, don't be afraid to find the recipe that suits you and add a shot of cold espresso when you blend.

~ fresh ginger and turmeric can be added to just about any smoothie, packed full of goodness too.

~ Left over smoothies make great frozen lollies!  Just ask the Murdoch teenagers... Ed and Elle have been doing that for years.
